Electrical Personal Assistive Mobility Device
Colorado Revised Statue 42-1-102(28.7) "Electric Personal Assistive Mobility Devices" or "EPAMD" means a self-balancing, non-tandem, two-wheeled device, designed to transport only one person, that is powered solely by an electric propulsion system producing an average power output of no more than 750 watts.

The following are examples of EPAMDs and unclassified vehicles, regardless of whether they are gas or electric powered. This list is not all inclusive:

 Segway • Segway
• Rad 2 Go (Similar to a Segway)
• Little Rascal
• Hoveround

Summary of laws regarding the use of EPAMDs in Broomfield:

•EPAMDs MAY travel on public roadways, except on limited access highways.
•EPAMDs MAY NOT travel on sidewalks.
•EPAMDs MAY NOT travel in ball fields, parks, recreational areas, bike trails, lake areas, or other areas commonly used for pedestrian or bicycle traffic.
