  1. Children - One Book 4 Colorado

    Every four year old in Colorado can receive their own copy of the same book to keep! Bring your four year old to the Children's Library any time between April 17 to May 1 to pick up the free book! There will be English and Spanish versions available. Curious what the book is? This year's book will be announced on Monday, April 17. One Book 4 Colorado aims to get a book into the home of every four year old in Colorado, promoting early literacy skills and helping families serve as their children's first and most important teachers.     All ages welcome! This program features participatory stories, songs and movement activities geared towards promoting early literacy and building a foundation for a love of books. Age appropriate activities are presented in three segments from younger to older in order to meet the developmental needs of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Transitions are built into the program so younger children can take a break if necessary. Join us for a wonderful shared experience for the whole family! No registration required.

    A fun and interactive Story Time for children 3 - 5 years old who can sit on their own. Preschoolers enjoy stories and songs that develop early literacy skills and foster curiosity. Asking children to attend without their caregivers helps to develop a sense of independence that will be needed as they start school. No registration required. Tuesdays, 10:30-11 a.m. And repeated on Thursdays, 1:30-2 p.m. Pick up a ticket and name tag at the Children's Desk beginning a half hour before each story time.

  6. Children - ARF! Afternoon Reading Fun

    April 27, 2017, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Children's Library Story Room

    For kids in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Students can read aloud to a therapy dog trained to listen quietly without correcting or judging. This creates a relaxing environment where readers can build their confidence and fluency. Bring your own book or choose a library book to read aloud to our dog friends. Sign-up at the Children's Desk beginning at 3:45 the day of the program. Space is limited. April 27 and May 11.
