  1. Creative Broomfield present Brazilian Carnival ~ Bella Diva Dance

    Join us the day after Mardi Gras on March 1st, 2017 to celebrate Brazilian music, dance, and culture. From the feathered beauties dancing Samba no pe, to the male styling Samba Malandro, we promise you won’t be able to stop tapping your feet to those samba beats! Audience members will even have the opportunity to learn basic samba no pe steps, a street dance originating in Rio, and is the heartbeat of Brasileiros. Bella Diva Dance is a Denver-based world dance company who strive to bring international, culturally authentic dance styles to Colorado. Bella Diva believes dance is for EVERY body, no matter what your age, size, or background.   1. Children - Cat's Hat Reading Program

    March 1, 2017, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM @ Children's Library

    All children up to age 12 are invited to participate! Kids can read 3 books at their level, write the titles of the books on a Cat's Hat tally sheet and put it in the Cat's Hat on the desk in the Children's Library. Non-readers may be read to. Tally sheets can be picked up in the Children's Library or downloaded from the Children's Library website after March 1. Enter as many times as you like from March 1 - 31. Entries will be chosen at random after March 31 to receive a Seuss-tastic prize!

  2. Children - Toddler Story Time

    Toddlers actively participate in stories, music and movement enhancing their social, emotional and language development while fostering a love for reading and books. Caregivers will be introduced to early literacy skills they can practice with their children to prepare them for successful learning when they enter school. It is a 30 minute program for children 21 to 35 months and a caregiver. Toddler time is presented 4 times a week. Mondays: 10-10:30 a.m. and repeated at 10:45-11:15 a.m. or Wednesday: 9:15-9:45 a.m. and repeated at 10-10:30 a.m. NEW - registration is no longer required! Pick up a free ticket and name tag at the Children's Desk the morning of the program.

    Practice your spoken English in the Library's conversation groups. The conversation groups are a fun way to improve your English. These classes are for those who use English as a second language and do not specifically emphasize grammar or vocabulary. Conversation groups meet Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. No registration is needed.
