Earth Day Science Camp - Just for Kids!



Saturday, April 22     9 a.m. to noon
Broomfield Community Center, Lakeshore Rooms, 280 Spader Way


Children ages 6 to 12 can be dropped off for a morning of science experiments, games, and learning about the environment. FREE goodie bag provided for each child!

Registration is required for this event, and space is limited to 50 participants. To register, please call Environmental Services at 303.438.6329 or drop us an email with the following information:

  • Child's first and last name
  • Child's age
  • Any allergies, if applicable
  • Permitted to have candy/snacks?
  • Parent/guardian name
  • Parent/guardian contact phone and email address

Drug Take-Back Initiative

P_drugs-CP.jpgIt's not safe to flush prescription drugs down the toilet or throw them in household trash. Broomfield partners with the Drug Enforcement Administration to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs. Please bring unwanted or expired prescription drugs (liquid or solid) for safe disposal--no questions asked.

Intravenous solutions, injectables, needles, and illicit substances will NOT be accepted.

This program provides Broomfield residents an opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste FREE of charge. There is a limit of three electronic devices per residence. Additional information and instructions will be provided when you arrange your appointment.

Paper Shredding Program



Saturday, May 20   9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY

Broomfield teams up with Shred-It, one of the world's leading document destruction companies, ShredIt-truckto provide this free service. Bring you confidential tax returns, medical forms, bank statements, etc., for safe and secure destruction.

Documents for shredding should be in copy paper sized boxes weighing no more than 35 lbs. each. There is a limit of three boxes per residence.

  • No separating required
  • Clips and staples are OK
  • Paper only, please!!
  • No other recyclables
If you did your shredding at home and need to dispose of the paper, each residence is also allowed to bring a maximum of three 32-gallon trash bags of shredded paper.
